Sandy Bar Cafe, Clontarf
We went to Sandy Bar Cafe on Sunday with Amy. It sits right on the water at Clontarf Marina, looking out over Sandy Bay, and it is a good stop if you are walking the area with a dog.
A few practical things, since these are the details I always want to know before I go somewhere new:
Dogs are welcome on the terrace, on leash. All sizes, all breeds.
You order at the bar or via a QR code at the table. Food is brought out to you, so once you are settled with your dog you can stay put.
It gets busy, especially on weekends. Sunday lunchtime had a queue at the bar and most outdoor tables full. Worth arriving earlier or being prepared to wait.
The off-leash beach is right there. Sandy Bay (also known as Clontarf Dog Beach) is just a short walk from the cafe, so you can combine the two — coffee on the terrace, then let your dog run on the sand. Note that off-leash hours are restricted on weekends and public holidays, so check the current rules before you go.
A nice combination if you are in the Northern Beaches area with your dog.
