April daily life photos / a month of golden light
What a month it's been.
Sydney has been showing off this April. Even now that autumn has officially arrived, the days have stayed soft and golden — that particular light you only get this time of year, warm without the heat. I keep finding myself pausing mid-walk just to take it in.
It was also my birthday, so a new number on the counter. Another year. I'm not someone who minds — every year here feels like a small gift, especially when the weather plays along like this.
A quick note for anyone who sent me a card or a parcel: two haven't arrived yet. One from my mum in the Netherlands, one from my mother-in-law in Scotland. So if you sent something and I haven't said thank you, please know it's not me being rude — it's likely still somewhere between there and here, taking the scenic route. I promise to thank you properly when it lands.
The best part of the month, honestly, has been the slower mornings. Long walks to the beach with our dog, who treats every single trip like it's the first time she's ever seen the lagoon and beach. It's hard not to catch some of that. I feel so lucky we live where we do — that forever-on-holiday feeling that doesn't quite go away, even when life is busy.
Here's to more golden afternoons.
