Van Stapele cookies in Amsterdam
Tucked away at Rokin 17 in the heart of Amsterdam, this little shop makes just one thing — and makes it perfectly. A dark chocolate cookie with a molten white chocolate core, crisp at the edges and gooey in the middle, always baked fresh throughout the day.
My friend Nina introduced me to these and treated me to them for my birthday — easily one of the sweetest gifts I've gotten. There are plenty of cookie shops out there, but for me this one is the absolute winner. Nothing else comes close.
A small warning: you'll likely have to wait. The queues here are famous, and at busy times the line can stretch well down the street. Worth every minute. They open daily at 10am and bake until the very last cookie is sold — so don't leave it too late.
