Important things to remember…
1. Most people are so absorbed in their own lives that they have no time to think about things beyond their own small circle. In some ways, this can be a liberating realisation as nobody cares about you and what you are doing!
2. A good question is better than a good answer
3. Don't be concerned with your legacy. Live a good life, focus on the now, and do your best. Chances are, in a thousand years we will all be forgotten!
4. You don't need to have an opinion. If you don't know, no opinion is a reasonable position!
5. You'll literally never know what you want to be when you grow up... and that's perfectly fine.
6. Remember your time is finite and you probably have less than you think. Cherish your loved ones, let them know how important they are to you, and don't take the time you have left for granted.
7. You can tell a lot about people by observing a) how they treat workers, and b) if they say please and thank you.
8. The amount of books you read doesn't count! It's more important to read 1 book and have it impact you deeply than to read 100 books and not feel a thing.
9. Failure doesn't always lead to growth. Sometimes failure just leads to pain. And sometimes growth doesn't come from failure, it just comes from sticking around long enough.
10. The world isn't fair. Bad people win, and good people lose, all the time. But even if it's not fair, the world will always belong to the people who make the best out of what they have in front of them.
11. Life hacks are over-rated. You can get pretty far by just doing what you say you are going to do, starting your day early, and being nice to people.
12. Most successful people are unremarkable. Their success isn't down to some unique difference, but a combination of luck and effort.
