Hi, I'm Gitte

I like things that are right. A filing system where you find what you need in ten seconds. A timeline people actually stick to. A homepage you can't quite explain, but it feels right.

That's one and the same instinct, applied in different places.

Why this combination

Structure and taste aren't opposites

People sometimes find the combination odd: admin and websites. To me it's the same work. A good website is a well-ordered story. Well-ordered admin is that same clarity — only nobody sees it but you.

In practice the two reinforce each other. Because I know how small businesses run, I know which pages they actually need. And because I build the sites, I can keep them current afterwards without you hiring a second supplier.

Where I come from

My background is in facility and office management — the role where all the lines converge. Suppliers, contracts, personnel files, office moves, the coffee machine and the board, often on the same day. You learn to prioritise, you learn to build systems that hold up when you're away, and you learn that most problems are communication problems.

Since 2023 I've worked independently as Studio Koke.

Koke (苔) is Japanese for moss. Japan has had me for years and I'm slowly working my way into the language; green has always been my colour. Moss turned out to be a fitting namesake, too — it works quietly, holds things together, and asks for almost no attention.

How I work

You won't have to chase me — I flag it when something isn't working, before you ask. Deadlines are agreements, not intentions.

I'll tell you when I'm not the right fit — I'd rather give an honest no than half-deliver. I know my limits, and I know people who cover the rest.

Everything stays yours — Your accounts, your domain, your files, your passwords. I work inside your environment. If we stop, you have all of it.

Sydney & Amsterdam

Two time zones, one way of working

I split my time between Sydney and Amsterdam. That means clients in both countries, and it means I'm used to working asynchronously: clean handovers, everything written down, nobody waiting on a reply.

For clients in Australia there's a bonus: when I'm in the Netherlands, my working day is your night — so it's waiting for you in the morning.
